Final Cut Pro X Released To Heavy Criticism

Well, Final Cut Pro X is out, and the reception has been, well, less than stellar. Macworld gives it 3 1/2 stars. Slashdot asks is it Apple's biggest mistake in years? It has been getting poor comments from Tech Crunch and is not even reviewing well on the iTunes store.

Celtx Script Writing Software Updated to 2.9

With a bunch of new features including a novel editor, colored notes, CSV export, a sketch tool, and dialog numbering, as well as 22 bug fixes, the newest version of this multiplatform, multilanguage screenwriting and preproduction software has just been released. Celtx is described as open source software.

Time Warner Cable Announces Short Film Contest

Time Warner Cable announced the launch of the Time Warner Cable Short Film Contest in association with IFC. Video submissions will be accepted from September 15th until October 31st via Time Warner Cable’s new YouTube® channel. Four Grand Prize winners will receive a 4-night trip for two to the 2011 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, January 20-30.
