Anyone going to see this? I wasn't, until I saw this interview with Natalie portman and hugo weaving. Sounds like a provoking movie. Then I went to the trailer. The cinematography looks pretty cool. That scene where V is sliding down the roof top has such unique lighting. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Here's the link to the interview: http://movies.aol.com/unscripted?ncid=AOLMOV00050000000004[/url]
V
I think the premise is - What would happen to the UK if the Germans won WW2? It looks very stylized and I have loved Natalie Portman since her first film, "Leon: The Professional." So yes, I will see this film this weekend.
Re: V for Vendetta
i saw it and i think its very good it really interesting how it changes your mood several times through the film. And believe the rating, it is for older audiences i would recommend it
Re: V for Vendetta
I saw it opening night, and I have to say I liked it a lot. Although I must admit it is a rather forgettable film. Not that it's bad-- just that it doesn't stand out as much as I was expecting. I'm still up for debate on this subject, as I can't exactly pin down what it was that made me feel this way. I think my favorite part was the ending, not to give it away for those who haven't seen it, but I just thought the whole ending was rad.
Discussion
I just wanted to let you know about this other cool board where they are discussing V for Vendetta. Their talking about the political messages and about some other very interesting topics. If you are interested, check it out here: http://www.farviewpoint.com/filmmakersnetwork/viewforum.php?f=20
Re: V for Vendetta
I've been a big fan of the V for Vendetta comic book, and the author, Alan Moore, made a big point about not wanting his name on the movie, and how the Wachowski bros totally screwed up his story. So I haven't seen it yet. I do recommend the book, though.
