Aperture 2.0, Promise, XMiL and HDV at lafcpug, March 26

The next meeting of the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group (lafcpug) will be Wednesday, March 26, 2008 beginning at 6:45PM at the Gallery Theatre in Hollywood CA.

Join us as we welcome Promise Technology and Aperture 2.0 and the world debut of XMiL Sequencer to lafcpug.

Many of you have heard that Apple dropped their Xserve Raid and suddenly this company named Promise Technology and their VTrak E-Class RAID Subsystem shows up on the Apple site seemingly taking it's place. So who is this company? What is Vtrak? Does it have blinking blue lights? Paul McLeod, Senior Marketing Specialist from Promise will show and tell.

Aperture 2.0 just shipped and features over 100 new features for the still photographer. What you might not know is that Aperture should be in every Final Cut Pro editor's toolbox. Apple's Kirk Paulsen will show you why.

XMiL Sequencer. converts an XML file exported from a Final Cut Pro timeline and turns it into an Avid Log Exchange (ALE) file. This file can then be imported into an Avid nonlinear editing system, turning the segments used in the FCP timeline into Avid master clips. Editor and author Rainier Standke will demo. This will be the world premiere of Xmil Sequencer.

Plus, Converting HDV to ProRes 422 - and why you want to with Larry Jordan, Stump The Gurus, Show and Tells and of course, World Famous Raffle.

A $5.00 donation will be requested at the door. Doors open at 6PM. lafcpug meetings are open to the public. First come, best seat.
