Columbia College Hollywood, Los Angeles Film School, or Full Sail?
I have looked extensively into the 3 schools, and I still think LA Film School still comes out on top.
I don't want to spend all that money going to USC or NYU...
I want to direct and I want to be in LA. Could anyone give me some advice? Would I be making a mistake if I went to one of those 3 schools? Thanks =)
NYU/USC/UCLA/LAFILM books?????
Hey guys,
So, I went to undergrad at San Francisco state university in their broadcast program. Its really helped me a lot in the real world. Now I'm 3 years into the real world, and have really got much more into film than anything else. I applied to NYU's Tisch school of the arts twice and didn't get in. Now, after three years of real world experience, I have given up on the idea of film school, but have developed an obsession for learning, watching, everything. I want to know, if I were to go to NYU, or even USC or UCLA, or other top film schools...would they teach with books??? If so, what would they be? I've already picked up two of Kubrick's recomendations (russion filmmakers), Kubrick is the man by the way. I figure his word is stronger than most film school professors anyway. But what else? Anyone take a class there before and remember any of the books they got? Any pointers on self education? Like I said, I have a lot of experience, but have hit a bit of a brick wall, and am trying to go back and learn a better foundation. I'm also weak on film history. Any help would be saweet. Thanks guys and gals!
