Hi all,
I just joined the board today, so hello all!
I am in need of input.
I just got an offer for Circus Road Films to represent my film in seeking out distribution.
As anyone heard good or bad of these guys? You can see them at www.circusroadfilms.com
Me too...
I got an offer as well....they do have an impressive list of films on their list, but I'd like to hear more about them if possible.
and I
My director also just got contacted by them. I'd be intrested in knowing a bit more about them if anyone has some info.
If they offer you a fee up
If they offer you a fee up front then they are good.
If they offer you nothing up front and a percentage then they are good, but don't count on seeing any money. Ever.
If they ask you to pay any fees then they are bad.
directorik is right...up
directorik is right...up front good, anything else not worth your time!
strike over means acquisition time!
and by the way, here's a heads-up...great news...I heard from a hollywood contact yesterday (successful screenwriter with extensive credits), that the strike is over in the next couple of days...they're getting a solid deal, which is great news. He says it's an even more favorable deal than the DGA (kinda hard to believe, but great news either way)...
And here's what I want you to know - this is the cool part: When a strike is over, the industry goes through a period of buy buy buy script-buying frenzy, to make up for lost momentum. So, get your stuff out there in a big way.
p.s. It's also a great time to get your films out there, because the industry's going to have a gap coming up they need to fill!
