Silent Film Sound

Though the title of this thread may seem like an oxymoron, it is precisely what I need. You know that sort of hissing and popping sound you get with old movies? Where could I get that? I'm not looking for the sound of the projector, but the distortion sound like in old Charlie Chaplain movies. Please let me know, thanks!
