Projects with a music budget can contract me to write for small ensembles and record with live players. Don't settle for synth mockups in your film. While my site does have examples that use synths, I am moving into creating live ensemble scores for any budget.

Remember the old Twilight Zone episodes? Bernard Herrmann, Jerry Goldsmith and others created magic with as little as six classically trained musicians. I'd rather create a really well done chamber score with real players than a fully symphonic synthesized score any day. Cronenberg's early films utilized Howard Shore with small musician combinations to create unique soundscapes for his horror films.
