Newsflash: Oscar Winning Producer Larry Meistrich to speak at MIT MEDIA LAB, September 20, and hold Pitch Session at CDIA Boston University on September 21.

We wanted to let you know about an event NEHST Studios ( Larry Meistrich’s new creation ) is holding in Boston September 20-21. Larry Meistrich, Oscar winning producer for “Sling Blade,” two nominations for “You Can Count on Me,” producer of “Belly” and “Croupier”, Golden Globe winner, Grand Jury Prize in Cannes , Toronto, Berlin, Sundance, Venice, will be speaking at the MIT Media Lab at 6pm on September 20. There will be no charge. We’re working out the agenda, and there will be a speaker from the Media Lab.
The title of the lecture is: New Media Marketability: Content, Audience, Funding
Larry, the creator of the Shooting Gallery and Filmovement, will address, from the perspective of someone in the film business for 20 years, how technology is shaping and changing the content business – and how his new studio, NEHST, is addressing these trends. Larry’s forthright and in-your-face presentations include tips on making it in the business, and priceless info for producers, marketers, writers, directors, and now, new technology content creators.
Larry is looking to fill up his large slate of projects to shoot within the next two/three years. Our goal is to find 50/60 contents, ( movies, shows, series, documentaries,) budget from two to fifty millions each.
On September 21, starting at 10:30 AM – at the CDIA Boston University facility, Larry will be holding a live pitch session for anybody wishing to pitch him film and media scripts, treatments, or finished projects for distribution. You will be pitching to someone with greenlight power who is creating a slate for production. Nine deals have already been made from these pitches.
