Review:
In most cases people have bad experiences with their film schools because those that teach the classes have failed in some degree in the film industry and will take it out on students with any potential to become what they did not. Let's not be bitter as they are and take their example of failure and soak up their lectures like sponges so that we can anti-emulate them.

Re: All Film Schools
And remember, statistics show that the majority of students in film school today will not be working in film once they graduate into the 'real world.' Look around your classroom and try to guess which ONE of you will still be working in film 20 years from now-- it might be you! If it IS you, after you graduate and achieve your modest success in the industry, years later you might decide that you want to teach filmmaking, to pass your love of the craft on to the next generation of would-be filmmakers. When you do, you will be faced with lots of young wannabees with a false sense of entitlement who will resent you because you could only give them education, not talent. Many will target you as the enemy, but soon after graduation, they'll ask you for a letter of recommendation, and you'll write something nice about them, because you don't really blame them-- you remember when you were an 'angry young man' too. Ah, the circle of life.

Yes, in an industry where mediocrity triumphs over creativity, you can anticipate a small army of lemmings to be crammed into your film classes. Expect over privileged bohemian brats playing pauper with a bloated egos waxing philosophical about the aesthetics of Felini while rocking out to the latest Strokes song on their iPod. Do you want to produce/write/edit/direct something original? Destroy convention and think for yourself.
