Well...
I'm in my second quarter of THE ART INSTITUTE OF SEATTLE, with major Video Production. It's been a good experience for me, since I learned all the basic stuff about filmmaking, like editing, shooting, lighting, etc.
But they say that it's hard to transfer credits from this school. To be honest...look for a better school than this one.
You cannot use equipments out of class (you must pass the qualification test first). It's hard for us to use and learn the equipments since we haven't got lots of opportunity.
The instructors in fact are pretty much great. The tuition fee is not high.
Anyway....

Re: The Art Institute of Seattle
Wow. I wonder which Art Institute you go to. I'm a multimedia student at the one in Seattle, and I'll be doubling in Video. Either things are COMPLETELY different at your locale or I don't know. Some of the teachers here are great, some suck. It is very easy to use equipment out of class, if you can't pass the proficiency tests then you probably shouldn't be in Video. Tuition is VERY high. The Art Institutes are great, but ONLY if you know what you're doing at least somewhat before you go there. Don't just say "hey, movies would be cool" and go do video.
My score: 7.
