i want a software that can make short films the special fx i want are : green screen effect, slow motion, fast motion , reverse, and maybe some other fx i cant think of but would be sweet with a action , or horror movie im thinking about vegas or premiere elements but i dont know if they are good. i want to keep it under or barely above $200-250 or maybe there is a better one i dont know about - i would appreciate your input....thanks!

The effects you listed: Green screen, slow motion, fast motion and reverse motion are all fairly basic effects that usually come with your standard editing software. You don't really need a seperate program to do these. Adobe Premiere or Apple's Final Cut Pro all come with these effects. If you can only afford one, a workhorse editing program is more important that an extra effects program. It's extremely difficult to do simple editing in an effects program, it's just not designed for it. The green screen usually isn't the greatest, it'll look very "local weatherman" but for $250 your not going to get anything better. --Trey

I bought Premiere Elements about a year ago. I am pretty satisfied with it. It is only missing a few features of the full versions. The price was awesome too. I got a bundle package with a version of Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements (Photoshop Elements also only was missing a few features) for 100 bucks! Definetly worth it even though it has slightly less stuff than more expensive versions. It has all of your effects you listed and more.
