Playback problem with Premiere Pro

I imported a clip into the timeline, and when I preview the sequence, the clip skips frames, and even stops playback halfway through it's supposed lenght in the timeline. If I view the clip elsewhere, it works fine. Here are the setting for the project Editing mode: DV Playback Timebase: 25.00 fps Video Settings Frame size: 720h 576v (1.067) Frame rate: 25.00 frames/second Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV PAL (1.067) Color depth: Millions of colors The clip has the same settings, but it is a .mv2 extension, since I compressed it with TMPGEnc. Has this happened to anyone before? any suggestions?

Re: Playback problem with Premiere Pro

This happens to me too. I've been using premiere 6.5 with no problems. Just installed premiere pro and I the video playback jumps all over the place, stops, stutters - it's unworkable. I have a good spec on my pc (ram, graphics & processor) plenty of free space on my drive and I've defragmented but still no solution. I installed the software on a friend's pc just to see if it would work and it does - prefectly. 8O Can anybody help?

Re: Playback problem with Premiere Pro

This sometimes happens when the your camera that you capture the clip from is still on when you try to play the clip. Try turning the camera off while viewing playback..

Re: Playback problem with Premiere Pro

This happened to me too but I finally found a way to fix it. All you have to do is select "Render Work Area" from the "Timeline" drop down menu (It might be in a slightly different place because I use Premiere Elements). It will take a minute to render whats in the work area and then you will be able to watch it without skipping. You are still able to edit it but if you add footage you might need to render again to get the unrendered clips. I hope this is helpful!
