I just got offered the props master job for a film being produced in my area. The film has a $150,000 budget and my job will mainly be procuring the props and designing this one set space and set dressing it, etc. Some props have already been made, etc. so I am doing the rest. I was asked to get back to them on my pay, but really I have only done a tiny amount of film work in the past and it's all been for free. I specialized in props but in theatre. Any help you all could give me on what I should ask for would be great. Oh, it's not a long engagement. They are still working on shooting schedules but maybe a couple of weeks total...but could be less than a week...you know how it goes. Thanks all!

The first thing I see is that if you're the property master, why would you design a set and dress sets and be the propmaster? If you're going to do three people's jobs, you might want to consider that when asking for the little money it seems they'll pay you. Also, keep in mind that set designing is pre-production and that set dressing is done before and after the principle shooting, while propmasters work WITH the shooting crew. If you're going to work for hours, make sure they hire someone else to strike the sets for you or you'll never sleep.
