One shoot I worked on the director put our lead on some hair growth hormones to get his sideburns to come in a little faster. The actor was in his twenties, so that helped too. You can do the old "burn the end of a wine cork and smear it all over" trick. You also might try finding someone with an electric razor and collect the tiny tiny hairs from it. Then you could smear those on his face.(eeeeeeeewwwwww) As with all makeup. It seems to be comprised of lots of trial and error. So experiment. OR: Fix the problem in casting.
