Well, break into what exactly? Ie, what do you want to do?

Networking
I am an intern for a production office. They say that networking is the best way to break in. I am not sure what my objectives should be as far as what I am trying to accomplish while interning. I am sure I will get a letter of recommendation but I am not sure how to build connections that can help me especially since its a small office and I don't neccesarily feel comfortable trying to schmooze with outside clients and contacts when I am just a runner/intern. I feel like I have to make the most of this opportunity. Can anyone give me advice.
