Has anyone in Vancouver or anywhere heard anything good or bad about this school? I wanted to go to Vancouver Film School for their Sound Design course but the Tuition has become a joke and I cannot afford it. Any feedback will be highly appreciated. PAVI Website

Funny because I'm in the
Funny because I'm in the exact same situation. I checked out VFS and the tuition is depressing to say the least. Not only that but I wanted to take the program mainly for music production and after learning that's only a PART of the program.. I kind of became somewhat disinterested. I'd really like to find out more about PAVI too..

Hi,
I know of the school VERY well. The company I work for is actively involved in gaming and multi-media and we've hired a number of PAVI grads. In my opinion it's one of the better schools in Vancouver. I would certainly recommend it.
Best bet, if you're in town, is to stop by and check it out for yourself. You could also ask to speak to some recent grads about their experiences.
Just my two bits.

I went to PAVI and took the AEP course a few years back. Without PAVI I wouldn't be where I am today. To each his own I guess when it comes to school. I put in a lot and worked my butt off. I would have been successful in my industry no matter what school I went too, thats just my nature, I work hard. With my research I found PAVI to be what I needed when it came to working in the real world. Like high-school every class has at least 1 or 2 people who don't put in the effort they should. These are usually people who feel like life owes them something. So, when someone doesnt put in enough effort to get something out of it you get a person who has the time to post bad things about a school on a regular basis, you dont get to hear the good reviews from guys like me because we actually have jobs now and dont really have the time to post. Why do I have the time today? Cause I'm sick, it's the olympics and I am bored all at the same time and came across this thread. Killing time for the Hockey Game! GO CANADA! I guess if I had the time to put into a post like the artschool ones mine would look like it was written by a professional too. I'm an audio guy, my grammar sucks, sorry. But I know what sounds good, haha.
All I am trying to say is make your own decisions about a school. Take the info you find online, good and bad and make YOUR own decision. Research all the schools, PAVI might not be for you, Harbourside IT might be, VFS might be. Only you can answer that question, don't be a fool and pass up anything based on a review by someone you have never met.
I dont't recommend VFS at all, way to pricey and you can get the same and more from other schools for sure. I seen a thread just before this one on VFS talking about a student who saw a teacher posting, and to see an employee of H. IT make a post makes me wonder. I dont know anything about this H. IT posted above, when searching reviews I only found one. It took many google searches to find it, I kept finding hotels. They dont have a good online presence from what I just searched, their website looks thrown together and I need a magnifying glass just to read the damn thing. Their website isnt nearly as old as PAVI's which probably means the school hasn't been around nearly as long as PAVI and probably why I never knew about it when i went to PAVI. They offer a program similar to PAVI's AEP program, they even call that program AEMP. But it looks like thats all they offer. Kinda looks like a copycat school of 1 program. Who knows, I will leave that comparison for you to do ..
Go Team Canada!!
